1/14/19- Sea Update

Ted here for Out to Sea,

Quiet Monday out on the water. Wind and big swells expected for this week as this low front moves through. Diving conditions may hold inside the bay for the first part of this storm, but expect them to diminish later in the week. Will have an up to date conditions report tomorrow morning for San Carlos beach.

Fishing still slow overall, with perch being the big ticket item. With all the big seas lately, people should consider fishing some of our local rivers such as the Salinas and Carmel. Local rivers are open for fishing Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, just be sure to have your Steelhead Report Card. Stripers are an easy and fun target species in these fisheries. Tie on your favorite jerkbait, or stop on by the shop and grab some of our fish tested, Banned in Bulgaria swimbaits, and go to work with limits easily attainable on the early morning bites.

Be sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming workshop series that we are going to start holding monthly down at the shop. Going to be doing tips and techniques from local fisherman for all of our local target species, as well as, gear and tackle specials for those that attend.

Tight lines and stay safe out there
